Robert Stewart, Ph.D.
Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Dr. Stewart is responsible for building the initial management team, negotiating the licensing agreements with TASC and Northrop Grumman IT, and raising all capital used in the funding and growth of the company. A successful entrepreneur with significant business development and management experience, Dr. Stewart earned a Ph.D. in Chinese Studies and International Affairs with a specialization in Chinese law at Georgetown University. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and German and has an interest in Asian studies and languages. Dr. Stewart has worked for more than 25 years in business and competitive intelligence with strong business experience in East Asia.
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Timm Johnson provides business counseling and mentoring for TextOre. Since 2009, Timm has counseled over 1200 clients providing advice on launching, financing, marketing and selling their business. Timm is a practiced entrepreneur with over thirty years of finance and operations experience for technology and services growth companies in the commercial and government sectors. Timm is a founding director of Mason Venture Mentors, a provider of business advisory services to start-up technology companies. Through Venture Mentors, he has provided leadership roles in several companies including Nexus Technology Services LLC, Visionary Consulting Partners, LLC, and Next Breath a division of the Aptar Group, Inc. As an experienced CFO, Timm led several companies – from business formation and strategy, venture capital acquisition, business operations management and exit.
Martin Thurn is a senior software engineer and technical consultant to TextOre. In a career in computational linguistics and big data spanning over 30 years, Martin has developed a number of unique applications, and spent 15 years working on practical research in natural language processing, creating the TextOre software and TextTrainer, a relationship extraction engine that learns rules for any language from examples. He also holds a patent in the area of Semantic technology.
Defense Analyst and Business Development Lead
Mr. Wood's research focuses on Asia-Pacific security issues. He previously edited China Brief at the Jamestown Foundation. Mr. Wood earned an M.A. in International Studies from the Hopkins-Nanjing Center in Nanjing, China. He is proficient in Mandarin Chinese.
