TextOre Welcomes Johan van de Ven

TextOre is thrilled to welcome Johan van de Ven as a China Analyst, focusing on the company’s China practice. Johan joins TextOre having spent the past three years working as an analyst of the Belt and Road Initiative, through which China has sought to increase its international influence. Johan is proficient in Mandarin, and has lived in China for over four years. He holds a B.A. in Chinese Studies from Oxford University, and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School. Despite focusing in recent years on Chinese politics, Johan’s beginnings as a China analyst focused on Chinese football, during which time he wrote match reports on Dalian Aerbin and Beijing Guo’an, and provided punditry to the BBC.
